I had to buy a new stand that was capable of handling this gorgeous set. The VT60 is very beautiful and the stand that it comes on is very classy, but it's a behemoth no doubt. The speakers are some of the best in it's class and it can fill it a large room very easily, and that's with the sound at about half. I don't currently have it hooked in to a surround sound yet (mainly because I don't feel like setting it up) but the onboard speakers and sub do as well as a mid-priced sound bar. The speakers are nearly hidden on either sides of the set but create an amazing 3D effect. My Sony and Samsung sets are no where close to matching the sound of the VT60. For those of you who do not want to break the bank with buying the VT60 or the new ST60, buy the ST50 which is what I watch in my bedroom. Of course it's not as feature filled, but the VT60 is much like the Samsung Galaxy S4 in that they both have so many features that it can be overwhelming. The ST50 delivers great video watching after calibration, and I actually prefer watching movies on my 50 inch ST50. Of course the VT60 is far superior, but the difference between the two is not something that you notice unless you have really strong eyesight. Yes it gets deeper blacks and better stats across the board, but it's also tons less money and just as valuable in terms of picture quality. For those who fear burn-in, burn-ins are an issue of the past. Just be sure to enable the pixel orbiter and run the scrolling bars for 15 minutes once a week or every 12 hours of use. Trust me, my faithful plasma has lasted me for years and still looks superb! |
