| Sharp LC-70UD1 4K TV Sharp has just introduced a couple of high-end TVs if you're rich enough to be seeking an UltraHD set and lucky enough to live in Japan: the 70-inch LC-70UD1 and the 60-inch LC-60UD1, part of the new 4K Aquos UD1 series. Each will feature Sharp's 4K "Moth-eye" panel, Aquos 4K-Master Engine Pro HD upconversion engine, 2.1 channel THX surround and 3D capability. The 70-inch model will run 850,000 yen ($8,290) and launch on June 15th, while the 60-inch set will arrive August 10th for 650,000 yen ($6,335). There's no word yet on a stateside arrival, but based on what Sharp said at CES 2013 in January, it may join a 32-inch 4K Aquos model sometime later this year. | In this video we show just how well the Sharp Moth Eye coating works in the real world. The TV has been split into the standard glossy finish, Sharp Moth eye finish, and a matte finish. As I move, you can see just how well the moth eye surface helps to absorb the light and reduce reflections, while keeping the image contrast and colors. | I ordered this Sharp Aquos LC-60LE741E Led 3D 1080p TV off Sharp direct for ?949 through a Sharp affinity account. The normal price is ?1249. The picture quality on HD is superb. The video is of Terminator Salvation playing at dvd quality, which is stored on a WDTV live streaming media player and is upscaled through the player. The results are very good considering it is such a large screen. The video above doesn't do it enough justice. This screen size is really built for HD viewing and is where it really excels.The price for what you get is fantastic value. AV forum link, Info about bracket for dangerousffc, I originally went to buy this one ; but it was out of stock. As were all 60" brackets?! So being impatient i knew the Sharp was quite light for its size, 35kg. So the upto 56" bracket has a max load of 75kg, which is more than adequate and fits the 400x400 Vesa mounts. It fits perfect with a narrow 6mm gap between speakers at the bottom and the wall. But can be narrowed using the smaller spacers supplied. I would think this gets it not far off from the speakers touching the wall. This is the link to the bracket for dangerousffc and is the one I actually bought. Don't worry about it only being for a 56" maximum. It comes with 6 coach bolts that you can tighten with socket set or spanner. It's in to the wall that tight I think I could swing on it. for a bet. I presume the one that was out of stock will do the job and is also cheaper. However as CPC is near to me I new that if it didn't fit I could take it back. Another little tip; the left hand speaker hides all my cables going to my AV equipment in the sideboard below. As I plastered that wall I didn't fancy chopping it out again. |
