My second and final visit, for a first-hand view of Mitsubishi's 75" LaserVue television. In this segment, I obtained temperature readings on both sides of the television, and was allowed to pop in my Blu-ray version of Digital Video Essentials to take a look at overscan & geometry.
My buddy Todd & I had our daughters along for this trip, and it had been a long day for them. ...they were beginning to act up a bit. The reseller had the LaserVue connected to a Bose system which was in "Demo Mode" and would allow only ten minutes of viewing the Blu-ray input before reverting back to demo mode. As you can see - the viewing angle is pretty sweet. I was not at all impressed by Primetime Audio Video of Rockford, and cannot recommend them to anyone. While their price was competative, I obtained a far better price from OneCall.com with free shipping. Primetime was unable to match the free shipping. OneCall.com - I can't say enough about them. They have earned my loyalty. Note - aside from titles and transitional inserts, this video has not been edited or altered in any way. The lighting of the room was dimmer than what appears in the video, I suspect that my camcorder (Sony HDR-CX12) automatically compensated for the lower light of the environment. This has resulted in the television's brightness being altered and colors are somewhat washed out. It actually looks better than portrayed in my video! Also I purposely shot video from an extreme angle to illustrate the viewing angle of this set. Again it is far better in person than as portrayed in the video. |

My 75" LaserVue (L75-A91) was ordered from OneCall.com on October 30th, 2010, and delivered on November 8th, 2010. The room lighting consisted of five 23w CFs, which were at full brightness, I suspect that my camcorder (Sony HDR-CX12) automatically compensated for the lighting of the environment as the camera catches the reflected lights. A static image (an HD test image embedded within the TV's firmware) was used to demonstrate viewing angles, as it remains a "constant" as the camera moves toward other viewing angles. I purposely shot video from an extreme angle to illustrate the viewing angles of this set. As such, some glare from my basement's overhead lights are reflected on the screen of the TV. Again it is far better in person than as portrayed in the video. This will probably be my final video on the LaserVue, because I would rather be watching it, than recording it. Comments and questions are of course, always welcome. |
